Sales Analyses and Reporting for a Fortune 100 Company
Customer Profile
Customer is in healthcare industry and manufactures various cardio vascular instruments and systems like stents, guidewires, and balloon dilatation catheter, pacemakers and is a Fortune 100 company having presence worldwide.
Objective
The goal was to integrate the Corporate data in the data warehouse and automate the various Sales analyses and Reporting functionalities, so that their large sales force can have access to consistent, accurate and highly valuable data online.
Description
The task-involved gathering the existing Sales reports, new requirements and then design various Data marts/Star schemas using the Ralph Kimball's Dimensional modeling Techniques/methodologies. Both detail and aggregate data marts were designed and developed during the course of this project.
The data mart implementation was done using Informatica. The BI / OLAP solutions were provided using the COGNOS BI suite comprising of Impromptu, PowerPlay and web deployment tools like IWR and PPES. The security solutions were implemented using the COGNOS Access Manager. The project involved proof of concept, server architectures for the COGNOS BI Suite, evaluations of various BI tools, designing datamarts, implementing them , providing BI/OLAP reporting solutions and finally deploying them on the web using IWR, PPES and COGNOS Upfront.
