What is an H-1 Visa?
The H-1B VISA is a non-immigrant temporary work permit issued to foreigners to legally work in the USA, in a specialty occupation (profession).

Does Generic-Haskell charge visa fees from the consultant?
No, Generic-Haskell will bear all H-1B visa petition/processing charges.

How long is the work permit valid?
The validity of the work permit depends on what has been applied for. Whatever the time validity of the permit, it can be extended upto six years as long as your work performance meets our standards and there is a continued need for your skills as determined by the INS.

Will Generic-Haskell sponsor and process my dependents visa?
Yes.

Can my spouse practice her profession?
Yes, your spouse can legally practice his/her profession provided he or she fulfills all the legal obligations. This would mean that she has to apply for an H-1 VISA separately.

Yes.

How does the process work?
Pre H1 approval: You will be interviewed and if selected you will be made an offer. On acceptance of the offer you will have to submit the relevant documents for processing your H-1 VISA petition with the Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) in the USA.

Post H1 Approval: After the H-1 petition is approved we will send the original approval to you and you will need to go to the consulate to get your H1 visa stamped in your passport. The employee (consultant) is responsible for all charges at the US consulate. You will be sent an air-ticket to fly from your country (example India) to the USA at Generic-Haskell's cost. Upon arrival in the US, you will be provided temporary accommodation paid for by Generic-Haskell. You will be given orientation on how to conduct yourself in an interview. You will be placed at a customer site after a due interview process. All client interviews will be held in the US only after your arrival to the US.

What are the documents that I will need to submit?
You will have to submit photocopies of the following:
1. Copies of all relevant pages of your passport
2. Your most current resume
3. All your degrees, diplomas and marksheets for the entire duration
of post-secondary (after 12th Grade) school study.
4. Experience letters from previous employers or offer letter and the last paycheck stub.
5. Signed Offer Letter and Contract Papers from Generic-Haskell
6. Photocopies of your last paystub or stipend.
7. H1 Questionnaire.
8. Prior Approval notices (I-797) from INS (if applicable)
9. Photocopies of your H1/H4 Visa front and back (if applicable).
10. Photocopies of your Social Security Card front and back (if applicable).
11. Photocopies of your I-94 Card front and back (if applicable).

Do I surrender my passport or any other documents?
No, you don't have to surrender your passport nor any other important documents. If you have signed an agreement to work with Generic-Haskell, we lay faith in your commitment that you will fulfill the obligations of the contract.

Do I need a relieving order?
No, we do not require a relieving order from your employer.

How do I obtain the visa for my dependents?
Employee will need to submit all the documents that employee had submitted for his/her H1 visa stamping as well as marriage license for their spouse, along with marriage photos and birth certificates for the children. Employee is recommended to submit his paycheck stubs if possible. Dependents will need a valid passport before visa can be issued. Children under two may be listed on the mother's passport depending on the country's passport rules.
